How vendors are checked
Every vendor signs in with their mobile number and a one-time code. New listings are looked at by our team before they appear on the site, and a listing that looks like a copy of one already here (same name in the same city, or a stall within a couple of hundred metres of an existing one) is flagged to us before it can go live.
The Verified badge is a separate, further step. It is shown only after a vendor has sent a government ID and our team has matched the name on it to the name on the page.
What the Verified badge means, and what it does not
- It means we have seen an ID for the person behind the page, and the name matches.
- It does not mean we have checked their prices, their produce or the quality of their work. Reviews from other customers are the better guide to that.
- A vendor without the badge is not a bad vendor: many carts have simply not sent an ID yet. It means one less thing has been checked.
If you think a badge is wrong (the person at the cart is not the person on the page, for example), use Report a problem on their page.
Your ID, if you are a vendor
The ID you send for verification is kept on a private server, not with the photos on your public page. Only our verification team can open it, and every time someone does, it is logged. We keep only the last four digits of the ID number; the rest is masked before it is saved.
Reviews
- You can review a vendor once you have actually dealt with them: they have replied to your message, or a visit you asked for has happened.
- New accounts can write reviews from their second day.
- Reviews containing links are held for our team to read first, and so is a sudden run of reviews on one vendor, whether good or bad.
- Vendors cannot delete reviews. They can reply, and report one they believe is fake.
- Accounts found posting fake or paid reviews are suspended.
Visit requests and your address
When you ask carts to come to your lane, vendors nearby see the area the request is from and what you want, not your phone number or exact address. Only the vendor who takes up your request sees how to reach you. You can cancel a request at any time from My Visit Requests.
Safety at home visits
Electricians, plumbers, carpenters, technicians, cooks and helpers work inside your home, so they are checked more closely than stalls and carts.
- Identity: every service provider's ID is seen and matched to the name on their page. The number is never shown.
- Police verification: asked for from everyone who works inside homes. Their page says clearly whether it is on file or still pending.
- Trade certificate: shown where the trade has one (ITI or equivalent). Not having one is not a red flag on its own.
- Helpers: anyone who brings a second person must say so on their page, so you know how many people to expect.
On the day:
- Check the name and photo on the page against the person at your door before you open it fully.
- If you will be alone, tell someone at home or a neighbour who is coming and when.
- Agree the price of the job before work starts, and pay when it is done.
- Never share a one-time code from your phone with anyone who visits. Nobody from FeriBazaar will ever ask for one.
- If anything felt wrong, report it from their page, even if nothing happened. Patterns only show up when people report.
FeriBazaar never handles money
We take no payments and no commission, for produce, services or scrap. Pay the vendor directly, in cash or by UPI, at the cart or when the job is done. For scrap, everything is weighed at your door, on the collector's scale, in front of you. Anyone asking you to pay "FeriBazaar" in advance is not us.
